My Personal Message
Hey Guys,
Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. The Temple Street Childrens University Hospital charity is a very worthy cause and we would very much appreciate your support in helping us to raise funds for this charity.
The English Channel swim is considered to be one of the most difficult sea swims in the world. More people have climbed Mount Everest and more people have travelled into space than swam the English Channel.
We are a group of eight swimmers from a North Dublin Swimming Club. The group consists of two relay teams of four who plan to take on this challenge - Jimmy Seery, Paul Byrne, Kevin Prendergast, Jeff Hopkins, Michael Kenny, Frank Cope, Eamonn Cope, and Matthew Cope. Our goal is to raise much needed funds for St. Michael's C Renal Unit in Temple Street Childrens Hospital, Dublin. We will do the swim in August 2010 on a Spring Tide. The crossings will be monitored and verified by the Channel Swimming Association (CSA) under their strict rules.
Night swimming, jellyfish, powerful tides, sea sickness and hypothermia are among the many challenges that await us in the busiest shipping channel in the world. But we'll do it.

About my charity
Temple Street Childrens University Hospital
Temple Street Children's University Hospital Temple Street is the first port of call for tens of thousands of children every year suffering from every kind of illness and injury imaginable. Our aim is to help sick children by making their stay in hospital less distressing for them and their families, by funding the purchase of medical equipment, developing new services, funding research and developing new treatment facilities. However, the treatment we provide here at Temple Street is not limited to just the first-class medical care that we deliver. For many children and their families Temple Street Children's Hospital is a home away from home and so we treat the children of Temple Street as if they were our own. Temple Street children are special and that's why the Hospital must continue to be as extraordinary as the children that come here. Every day you help make this possible by supporting Temple Street, thank you! www.templestreet.ie
