The Adam Kennedy Trust have joined us here at mycharity.ie and we would like to wish them all the best with their fundraising.
SIX year-old Adam Kennedy has all the precocious energy of a kid. The only difference is he was born with Achondroplasia, better known as dwarfism, which, among other issues, meant he suffered from severe hearing difficulties from a young age. He is the first son of Noel and Valerie Kennedy of Skreen, Co. Sligo, who have worked very hard to address their son?s learning and hearing problems, but now they need your help.
The Adam Kennedy Trust was set up by close family friends and respected community members in Sligo and its mission is a simple one: To raise funds and administrate for the ongoing medical and educational needs of Adam Kennedy. We would like to welcome the Kylemore Trust to mycharity.ie and we wish them well with all their fundraising.
Up to 2008, the legal status of Kylemore Abbey was that of a non-registered company with charity status. The closure of the school, planned for 2010, other changes in the community, and changes in Irish society were making it clear that it would be advisable for Kylemore Abbey to become registered as a company, in order to have the legal status necessary to navigate its way into the future.
The Kylemore Trust was registered in May 2009 with community members as Trustees. A board of directors was set up, including Benedictine monks from Glenstal and Roscrea, and initially 2 lay directors.
The aims of the Trust can be summarised as follows:
- to support the Benedictine community and promote the continuation of the monastic presence for the future
- to maintain Kylemore Abbey with its buildings and amenities, especially its spiritual potential, for the Benedictine order and the nation
- promoting educational projects.

One in Four is the charity that supports men and women who have experienced sexual violence, many during childhood. We provide psychotherapy care at individual, group, couples and supporter levels. We share practical support on a wide range of topics e.g. working through the justice system. Recognising that difficult issues need to be tackled at a holistic level, we protect children and adults by reporting abuse, provide preventative treatments for offenders, advise on policy development and support public agencies with specialised expert advice.

The DID Electrical Cycle4Life have joined Mycharity.ie and we would like to wish them the best with their cycle and fundraising .
Cycle4Life is a charity that has been set up by D.I.D Electrical. Our first major event will be held on Saturday, May 19th, 2012. We are looking to raise much needed funds to purchase vital equipment that will support the ICU department in Temple Street Children?s University Hospital.
Temple Street is the first port of call for tens of thousands of children every year suffering from every kind of illness and injury imaginable. Their aim is to help sick children by making their stay in hospital less distressing for them and their families, by funding the purchase of medical equipment, developing new services, funding research and developing new treatment facilities.
After competing in numerous charity cycles over the years, the idea came about to develop our own charity that would use cycling as the preliminary method of fundraising. With 43 years in business and 20 branches Natio nwide, DID Electrical will leverage its brand to drive awareness of cycle4life.

The Cycle4haiti has joined mycharity.ie and we would like to send them our best wishes with their cycle to Galway.
The cycle is a 228 km charity cycle to Galway starting from three different locations Dublin, Sligo and Cashel to raise much need funds for the work of The Soul of Haiti Foundation.
It is a cycle that is full of fun, comradeship and determination that attracts cyclists from all walks of life and of very varying levels of fitness.
Motivated by both the continued devastation in Haiti and the positive results that our efforts are having, we want to have at least 500 people join us on this years cycle on the 5th & 6th of May 2012. And have set ourselves a target to raise between E300k and E400k.
There will be three different starting points at 8am on the Saturday 5th May ? Dublin, Sligo and Cashel, all converging on Athlone for the first night. The next morning, the Sunday 5th May all three groups will join together in one very big peloton for Galway city arriving mid afternoon.

The Pink Ribbon Walk has joined us here on mycharity and we would like to wish them the best with all their fundraising.
The Pink Ribbon Walk is a national movement with a big dream - a world without breast cancer. We plan to bring a Pink Ribbon Walk to every county in Ireland and to grow our fundraising for Action Breast Cancer, a programme of the Irish Cancer Society.
Because every cent that?s raised in sponsorship has the potential to fund breakthrough research into diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer.
Because every time someone starts a training programme to get fit for a Pink Ribbon Walk, they?re reducing their risk of developing breast cancer.
And because every time we step out in our pink t-shirts, we?re walking to support others, to help ourselves, for fun, friendship and remembrance ? but most importantly of all, we?re walking towards a cure for breast cancer.
